The Brief

Deeper offers a number of smart sonar models, one app, multiple fishing accessories and the bathymetry management platform Lakebook™. Deeper fish finders are available in 50 countries with over 2 million Fish Deeper App downloads and a team of more than 60 specialists working behind the vision to transform everyday objects used in sports and outdoor activities into the most advanced cutting-edge smart devices.

Deeper reached out to us because translation of emails into different languages was largely a manual process and they wanted to effectively change that.

Technology

What we did

After several discussions it was suggested to create a separate Mautic module to help automate the process. The module was implemented in 2 phases:

  1. Generation of emails for needed locales with updated links, images, header, and footer;
  2. Automation of the translation of email texts with a SmartCAT tool.

Deliverable deployed after phase1, project then placed on hold (client’s decision due to budgeting). After a while, the client gave a green light to implement the second phase, which was successfully accomplished as well.

The Result

We helped Deeper optimize the email sending platform Mautic and adapt it to the business needs. Email campaign set up was essentially improved during the first phase of the project, while deliverable of the second phase of the project enabled easier translations of the email content.

Further cooperation includes: translations for sms module, support with other Mautic customizations and technical improvements.

Front IT helped Deeper systematize in-house customizations to marketing automation software Mautic and make it properly maintainable. They were essential partners in working with us to get rid of bottlenecks in the system and writing us new modules for unique functionality.
